so stra sck did an interview with
Bloomberg television and weirdly this
was the only video that I actually
wasn’t going to cover mainly because
we’ve actually covered the exact thing
that stra zik said only a couple of
months ago but a lot of you guys have
been asking me to cover it and let’s
just quickly get into it this is going
to be a 2-minute video so during the
last T to interactive Zing school they
suggested that their approach to
marketing is going to be look at
marketing games closer towards the
release day because it’s not just about
marketing a game then releasing it then
selling it it’s about releasing the game
and making sure it can last 10 to 15
years it’s the ongoing marketing that
Rockstar take to and actually most games
developers in general these days are
focusing on now in this interview that
stra Sonic did with Bloomberg that’s
something else that he reiterated he
said that t 2 and Rockstar in general
are looking to promote their games
closer towards the launch date and he
didn’t really get into the specifics of
their approach to why they’re doing it
other than obviously games having a
longer life cycle as we learned from the
earnings call but we can speculate
welcome to the channel boys of course
live service and online models are going
to be the bread and butter for Rockstar
with GTA 6 and it has been the bread and
butter for GTA 5 if GTA online didn’t
have microtransactions GTA 6 would not
exist because although GTA 5 made a lot
of money it didn’t make enough money to
fund Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6 in
the form we’re going to get it in in
fact without microtransactions the
version of GTA 6 we eventually end up
getting would have probably been very
watered down in the sense that smaller
map smaller World less investment less
scope for a long-term future of the game
so contextually speaking the longevity
of each of Rockstar’s titles is
important to the revenue that they make
as a business now this can be also
interpreted in another way obviously
there’s a lot of rumor and speculation
that GTA 6 will get delayed I’m
personally just my opinion I’m in the
camp of I was there when GTA 5 was
released like I was there queuing
outside the store to buy it I was there
for GTA 4’s release was queuing outside
the store to buy it and I’ve been there
on every single occasion when Rockstar
haven’t announced the delay which so far
has been every single game now I am
optimistic and I hope that Rockstar will
break the cycle but we really don’t 100%
know but what stles Sonic said here that
they’re looking to consolidate their
marketing cycle towards being closer to
the release date does actually fall in
the camp of a delay and a push back into
2026 being far less likely so yeah that
summarizes the interview with Bloomberg
quick footnote just edited this and TGG
has just dropped a video about this
topic and he mentioned something which
I’d like to just double down and confirm
on we’re now 6 months ahead of the
predicted release date for GTA 6 if
there isn’t any delays so at some point
in the next five or so weeks we are very
likely to be receiving that second
trailer in fact we’re talking in like
the 90% region chance here of receiving
this trailer in the next 6 weeks so
actually this interview further helps
confirm that things look like they’re on
track thank you so much for watching
