As we are all patiently waiting for
Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer, its
first trailer is getting a ton of
updates online. I’ll be talking about
what’s going on and more all in this
video today. So, we talked about this a
few days ago, but in case you guys
missed it, the GTA 6 trailer hit some
insane milestones. It got over 250
million views, a quarter of a billion.
It also received over a million
comments, which is crazy. obviously
generating a lot of different reactions
when it first launched on December 4th,
technically December 5th, 2023. And it’s
also been featured recently in YouTube’s
biggest video. So, this has been
spreading like wildfire over the last
couple of days. YouTube uploaded a video
called It’s Our Birthday, Let’s Party.
It’s uh basically a minute trailer that
they put together of some of their most
famous videos that have been uploaded
over the last 20 years. And Grand Theft
Auto 6’s first trailer makes a very
brief appearance. I’ll leave a link to
it in the description. It essentially
happens around the 51 to 52 second mark.
It’s a very quick shot of Lucia
essentially turning around in the car
chase scene. And this is incredible. And
I understand that this is one of the
biggest video game trailers that’s ever
been uploaded on YouTube. I totally get
that. But the fact that it’s still a
relatively new trailer and it’s the only
thing we’ve gotten from Rockstar
regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 and it was
still important enough to make it into a
20year celebration of YouTube. That is
absolutely insane. Again, I think it
just goes to show you number one, how
big that trailer was in terms of the
records that it broke and the amount of
views that it currently has, but also
number two, just how massive of a game
that Grand Theft Auto 6 is eventually
going to be when it releases. that it’s
small in the grand scheme of things 92nd
trailer was important enough to be
featured in this relatively large video
celebrating YouTube’s 20-year history
and is sort of a fun Easter egg on that
video on like the little timeline bar at
the bottom. Instead of like a normal
cursor, it’s like a slice of cake with
some birthday candles on there. And
because GTA 6’s first trailer was
featured, if you actually go to the
first trailer, uh, it will have the same
sort of birthday cake icon. And I think
all the other videos that were featured
in it are going to have that same one as
well. So, I just found that to be very
interesting. It’s cool that Rockstar
Games got that acknowledgement and that
GTA 6’s first trailer got that
acknowledgement as well. Again, I think
at the end of the day, it just goes to
show you ultimately how big this entire
thing is going to be. Now, speaking of
the first GTA 6 trailer, I’ve been
wanting to talk about this in a video,
but I didn’t really know where to fit it
in. So, when this subject came up, it
was honestly kind of the perfect segue.
A lot of fans have been noticing over
the last couple of days and weeks that
the thumbnail image that you see for the
Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer is not what
it traditionally was. Now, I’m sure you
guys have heard that term by now,
YouTube thumbnail. Well, it’s
essentially the image you see before
clicking on a video. And since day one,
Rockstar’s thumbnail has been this. It’s
been the Grand Theft Auto 6 artwork of
Jason and Lucia sitting on the hood of
the car. It’s the one we’ve seen from
day one, and it has not changed.
However, recently, fans have noticed
that instead of seeing the thumbnail,
they’re seeing this right here. It’s
actually a picture of the mud girl and
the thrill Billy Mud Club scene, which I
think was one of the coolest scenes from
the trailer, but a lot of fans are
wondering why they’re seeing this
instead of the actual artwork. And it
might just simply be a YouTube glitch.
It might be for whatever reason YouTube
thinks this is the most replayed spot in
the trailer, which honestly wouldn’t be
too surprising given the affection that
a lot of people seemingly have for this
Mudgirl character. It’ll be interesting
to see what role she plays in the game
and if she does have an important role
or if she’s just like a side character
or stranger or freak or something like
that or just a random NPC that you don’t
even really get to interact with. But
either way, fans have seemingly been
obsessed with her. I can’t explain why
this sort of thing happens. YouTube is
very strange where sometimes thumbnails
don’t end up working. I don’t know if
this means that Rockstar Games was doing
some behindthe-scenes changes or updates
to it because sometimes when you do
stuff like that, and the only reason I
know that is because I obviously do
upload YouTube videos, is that sometimes
you can accidentally like remove the
thumbnail or doing something will change
it and it’ll default to like a random
part in the video. It just shows it on
the screen as the thumbnail. So maybe
that’s the case there. I don’t know.
It’s kind of a mystery and a lot of
people have been talking about it again
over the last couple of days. I didn’t
know when I was going to fit this into a
video, but since we were talking about
the first trailer again, it felt like an
interesting and opportune time. But
again, I certainly found that
fascinating. Let me know if you’re
having that same I wouldn’t call it
issue or just same situation though in
those comments down below. And sort of
building on that on the topic of the mud
girl, a lot of people have been
speculating in the community that it’s
Tracy de Santa. This one account on
social media said, “Rackstar fans are
speculating the mud girl could be Tracy
from GTA 5. What do you think?” And they
pointed to a bunch of different facial
features that seemingly match up. And
Ned Luke, who obviously plays Michael
Danta, the father of Tracy Dant in GTA
5, just simply posted a face palm emoji.
And that might have to be a topic that
we explore in much further detail. This
wouldn’t be the first time though that
fans have thought a character that
appears in a new GTA uh trailer is a
character from a previous Grand Theft
Auto game. Like remember that fans
thought that when they first showed
Michael to Santa that it was Tommy
Versetti when they showed one of the
homeless guys in the trailer that it was
Nico Bellic. Neither of that turned out
to be the case. It’s theoretically
possible, but I don’t know. It’s
something we might dive into in a future
video. And last but not least, where I
want to end things in today’s video,
another brand talking about Grand Theft
Auto 6. This one, honestly, one of the
best candies in the world, Skittles. So,
they put out this tweet about 24 hours
ago. It was actually a tweet that they
put out in
2013. They were responding to someone
that said, “GTA 6 gets announced, and
this is what you tweet.” Because they
put out a tweet on November 8th. How
many Skittles could a Skittles Skittles?
I can’t even read that. that it’s so
confusing and they said, “I’ll tweet
about GTA 6 on April 23rd,
2025.” And so, sure enough, of course,
the other day, what did Skittles do?
They doubled down and tweeted, “We
really had Skittles tweet about GTA 6
before GTA 6.” So, they essentially
leaned into the meme of getting
something before GTA 6. It’s just so
funny how many major brands and major
celebrities out there have continued to
talk about this. Again, it just goes to
show you how mainstream and massive this
game is ultimately going to be when it
does eventually arrive, hopefully later
this year in fall 2025. And like I
mentioned at the beginning of this
video, now simply the wait for trailer
2. And honestly, some more information
is on. It doesn’t seem like it’s going
to be happening today though on
Thursday, April 24th, as Rockstar has
already posted about some GTA online
bonuses that are happening this week
involving terabyte client jobs, mobile
operation missions, etc. And while today
might not be the day, we know that day
is going to be coming soon because of
the deadline set forth by Take2
Interactive and their earnings call on
May 15th. So again, there is still a
little bit of time. Rockstar has
generally favored Fridays for like their
big announcements that don’t involve
current games like GTA Online and Red
Dead Redemption 2. So maybe we’ll see
something in the next 24 hours. We can
obviously be hopeful. But let me know
