so I’ve got a bit of a reputation on
YouTube as being the guy that constantly
glazes Rockstar this video is not that
trust me so you guys may be aware of the
Liberty City preservation project and
this is a project rued by a few people
that has basically put the GTA 4 map
into GTA 5 and basically allowed us to
relive GTA 4 as a game which is one of
the best games ever made now obviously
over the past few weeks this has really
taken off and it’s been seen by more and
more and more people and one of the
reasons I chose to not cover it
initially is because I thought it would
only be a matter of time until take two
took it down and over the past couple of
days I was starting to think oh hang on
maybe take two won’t take it down
because it’s been up for so
long no hello everyone due to this
unexpected attention that our project
received and after speaking with
Rockstar Games we have decided to take
down the Liberty City preservation
project we appreciate all the support
that the project has received and we
look forward to continuing to pursue our
passion for modding the Grand Theft duto
series now this is just reading between
the lines but it’s very obvious what’s
happened here these people have clearly
been given the ultimatum take it down or
get sued I mean maybe there’s another
thing that’s happened here but let’s be
honest nine times out of 10 this is take
to interactive or Rockstar Games
threatening to sue someone now the
reason why this frustrates me so much
and I think it should frustrate everyone
is that technically speaking this was
copyright infringement this was
infringing on take to interactives and
Rockstar’s IP I can understand that but
Rockstar Games let a game die that game
is not available on the PlayStation 5 or
the newer Xboxes people can’t enjoy that
Masterpiece anymore and Rockstar put no
time or attention into making it happen
yet some people come along they make it
happen they haven’t just done it lazily
the preservation project was honestly so
Tastefully and nicely done and
everything was thought about really well
plus it was clearly worked on for a
considerable amount of time Rockstar
could have easily said to the people
that run this we’ll buy it off you we’ll
pay you for your work will keep it going
and I doubt the people that created the
project would want $100 million to be
paid to continue this and to keep this
living on and to keep Liberty City
living on for previous generations to go
and experience it wouldn’t have taken
much work at all so the fact that t
interactive have come along shut it down
when there is nothing to replace it
sucks now of course on this channel I’ve
been very vocal about t to interactives
and their microtransactions and although
they’ve always been bad I understand why
they do it they do it cuz it works
people buy it and clearly people find
Value in these microtransactions which
is why they exist which is why GT Online
has become what it’s become and become
so successful but this is the most
anti-consumer thing Rockstar have done
in a very long time and they’ve done
some anti-consumer things before but the
fact that they’ve gone after the modding
Community for actually creating the only
mod that appealed to a wider audience
for a very long time it sucks and it’s
shitty now the reason why I’m making
this video is not that I can do anything
about it but I am aware that a million
or so Ser you a month view my content
and if I can be a voice to be heard by
Rockstar or anyone at Take 2 the very
minimum I can do is make a video and
show that I’m publicly angry about it
and annoyed about it because to be
honest I’m not sure what else I can do
but I have a platform so I might as well
use it now for stuff like this because
they’re a private company petitions and
all of that just won’t work but I do
think that this is something that we
should be really vocal about because
this isn’t just like anti-consumer this
is anti- GTA Community I think at the
very least Rockstar should pay these
guys for the work they’ve done buy the
project and maybe continue the project
in the background or pay these guys to
manage the project they did it with 5m
and albeit that didn’t work out too well
my lights just died that didn’t work out
too well but I can’t see why this
wouldn’t work out yeah I’m Keen to hear
