Hello everyone. This is not the news
that you all wanted, is it? I thought
I’d skip the intro today. Um, yeah, it’s
true. GTA 6 is officially delayed.
Um, now we can talk about why it’s
delayed and all the possible reasons
why. But firstly, I’ll let you all ask
whatever questions you want to ask
because I’m assuming there’s going to be
a lot of questions. Uh, understandably
so. Um, so
yeah, wasn’t the news I was expecting,
especially on a Friday. Rockstar don’t
do stuff like this on Fridays. So,
um, rough day. Rough day.
Still a few people saying it’s
clickbait. No, check Rockstar’s Twitter.
They’ve announced the delay. The game is
now officially coming out on May the
26th,
2026. Uh, so that’s over a year
away. Um, thing is I knew a delay was
coming and I did speak about this in
January. I said I do believe it’s quite
likely that it would get delayed. And
that’s forget the lack of news or
anything. It’s just Rockstar. They delay
every game. So that’s why I’m not torn
off about this. It’s not the end of the
world. It’s
um it’s
Rockstar. They delay absolutely
everything. My phone
recently my phone is going mental
mental. I didn’t I didn’t jinx it. It
was going to happen anyway.
Um the stock price is going down. Yeah.
Well, this is the thing as well. So, a
lot of people have asked me over the
years whether they should invest in Take
2, and I’m just like I I can’t give
financial advice because investing is
gambling, isn’t it? It’s it goes up, it
goes down, and with Rockstar likely to
put a delay in. That’s why I personally
never bought any stock in take two cuz
it will go up as much as it goes down. I
think the stock price went down. Um I
think it can’t remember by how much.
Like a good percentage though, which I
don’t understand why cuz the game’s
still going to come
out.
Um so what am I going to do in stream
now? Now we’re just going to talk about
this cuz the news just come out. Um I
this is early for me for for a live
stream. I should still be asleep,
but can’t take the betrayal. I don’t
think you’ve been betrayed. Like, let’s
not make this more melodramatic than it
is. I I made a little bet with a friend
that the game would get delayed because
Rockstar have delayed every game they’ve
ever made.
So, I do think that it’s really weird
that Rockstar do
announce years and release windows and
stuff. I don’t understand why they do
that cuz they know they’re never going
to meet that target. So, in the first
trailer, they just shouldn’t have put a
date. They should have left it
open-ended. But, I don’t know. But then
again, people would be so mad about that
as well. So, you can’t can’t really win.
Um, the news, where is it? It’s all on
their social media.
Um, but yeah, so it’s been delayed till
May 2026. The 26th of May
2026. Um, the the I mean, I’ve just
posted a video and the thing that
surprised everyone, myself included, is
that yeah, there’s a delay and we knew
there’d be a delay, blah, blah, blah,
whatever. But the fact it’s like a six
month delay from the predicted release
window, that’s the insane bit. We
thought three months, fair enough. But
six months is pretty wild. Um, visitor,
thank you for the super chat. It is the
end of the world. Life is pointless now.
Well, the good thing is is Rockstar like
if if there was two scenarios where
Rockstar just tried to meet the date and
release the game anyway and there was
bugs, glitches, and there was problems
with the game, that would be bad. But if
Rockstar going the other way with it,
where they’re like, “Right, we’re we’re
not going to be able to make the game
the best it can be for
2026,” I would rather a delay. like it
it’s far more beneficial to Rockstar to
actually delay the game than it is to
release it not ready. This is obviously
good news for Mafia
um for Minds Eye and a lot of other
people.
I based on some conversations
um that I’ve had with people, games
developers over the past few months, it
was expected that the game would get
delayed anyway um due to Rockstar’s
history of delaying everything. Um
but 6 months is unexpected. That’s a big
delay. Like something they must be
really behind to have to delay by six
months. So, Necra, thank you for the
super chat. How likely are screenshots
on the earnings call? I’m now more
confident in a trailer in the next
couple of weeks. I’m more confident in a
trailer or even screenshots because
every time Rockstar announces bad news,
they follow it up with good news. If
they dropped a trailer and then
announced it was delayed in the trailer,
the talking point of the trailer would
be the delay. Whereas now, they’re
announcing their delay, which probably
means that more good news is coming
soon. And that’s what they said in their
post. at the bottom of their post, they
said that they’re looking forward to
sharing more news with us soon.
So, I do think that a trailer is
probably more likely now because they’ve
said that more good news is coming soon.
Um,
yeah, I do think that in 2023,
announcing a release date at the end of
20, well, announcing 2025 and then take
2 confirming fall 2025 was a bit
preemptive. Um, if you guys follow O
Vermage, he was the developer. Um, he
was the technical director at Rockstar
from the early 2000s to like Grand Theft
Auto 4. And he says that delays, you
don’t know about them until like 4 to 6
months before release. So, Rockstar
coming out in 2023 and putting 2025 at
the end of their trailer is pretty
optimistic. It was originally believed
it was April 2025. Then in May last
year, Take 2 confirmed it was fall
2025 and then from that point I just
knew Slippage was was going to be the
case. Uh where did they say it? And just
check any of their social
media.
Um yeah, they lost a customer play
Battlefield 6. I don’t think they’ve
lost any customers by doing this. Why
they release a trailer early then?
Well, the thing is it’s not I I reckon
they fully expected the game would be
ready for 2025. I thought they would.
Like they probably internally all agreed
that it would it would happen, but
obviously it hasn’t played out the way
that they thought it would. Um, which is
a shame,
but yeah, it’s interesting.
Um, is Helix a rival to GTA 6? No, Helix
isn’t going to rival GTA 6. It’s just an
alternative to 5M. We didn’t even get
screenshots. We will either get
screenshots or a trailer soon. And I was
like 90% confident before. Now I’m 99%
sure that in the next like month or so
we’ll get a trailer or screenshots. The
reason I say that is because the last
line of the post that Rockstar made
where they stated that there would
actually be news coming soon and they’re
excited to share that news of this soon.
So yeah, I
think this isn’t surprising. Uh, I think
I’m a bit I’m a bit taken back by the
fact it was done today.

a bit taken back by is the fact that
three key things. Firstly, the delay is
going to be six months behind schedule.
Secondly, that the delay is
um was announced today. Like, it’s just
a weird day to announce it. They don’t
usually announce stuff today, which
makes me think that they’re maybe
gearing up to drop a trailer or some
screenshots to soften the blow at some
point in the next few weeks. It is

at the end of their post, they said
they’re looking forward to sharing some
news with us soon. So, I’m assuming that
means they’re gearing up for trailer 2
or screenshots or something. They know
that they can’t just drop it a delay
announcement and dip. They’ve never done
it before. Every time they’ve announced
a delay before, they’ve given us more
information shortly after. Usually,
actually, it’s around the same time, but
um we’ll have to hold fire and see see
what’s happening. The uh memberships are

Um I mean I’m a bit annoyed because this
is going to mess with my plans a little
bit. I actually said I so I don’t live
stream much, but I live streamed last
night and I said I’m hoping the game
isn’t delayed for selfish reasons cuz I
was planning going on holiday next
summer cuz I haven’t been on holiday for
years, like six or seven years now. And
um yep, they announced a delay. So, next
summer looks like holiday is out the
picture. I just woke up and thought they
were releasing it this month. Then I
read 2026.
Yeah.
Yep. That’s what I did when I first read
it. I was like, “Oh, is that trailer 2
26th of this month?” Oh, no. Games
delayed to May the
26th next
year. Uh, it’s not a one year delay cuz
it’s one year from today, but it’s not
delayed one year. It’s delayed by six
months. So, um, but yeah, I
mean there there’s a few ways of looking
at this. A lot of people have said that
like I’ve already seen that things that
people think that Rockstar are doing
this to spite us and they do it because
they hate us, whatever it might be.
That’s not what it is. And we know
that’s not what it is. They they
wouldn’t delay their revenue potential
unless they had actual reasons to
believe that they’d need to. Like, of
course they are. Sad life. Thank you so

for thinking they’ve delayed it, like
some of the stuff that’s probably gone

Um, yeah, there are some things I am
going to be dropping a full video to go
into it. Obviously, I’ve dropped a short
video going over some of the details and
outlining some key points,
but yeah. Am I going to game today? Not
today, cuz this isn’t when I normally
plan to live stream. This is way
earlier. This is 9 hours earlier than my
normal live streams. Of course, we
weren’t expecting a delay announcement.
So, um this was a bit of a shock to the
system for
everyone. Let me have a look at chat,
see what all of you are saying.
Um, they delayed the game for a whole uh
they haven’t the delay isn’t a year
delay. The game is a six months delay,
but it is 12 months from now. Yeah. Has
it been delayed? It has been delayed,
unfortunately. Well, your channel’s
going to be dead till then. Bye. I mean,
the game hasn’t come out yet, and my
channel’s doing better than ever, so I
don’t think it’s going to be the death
of my channel. Well, I think that’s a
bit I think that’s a bit
preemptive. Um, they’re delaying to
prevent crunch. They don’t want to
repeat your Red Dead Redemption 2.
Crunch time that made devs quit the
company. They’re cooking still but
slower. Yeah, 100%. I mean, if we look
at like what’s happened to leads with
delay, it’s pretty obvious. Um, there
are some things that are less obvious,
but if we just look at it from Thank you
for the super chat by the way as well.
Um, but if we look at it from like an
outside perspective of what’s happened
and what’s leading to this, it’s purely
the fact that they changed their company
culture because people were sleeping in
the office at their desk. People I know
from people I spoke to, it caused
problems in their relationships. They
left their partners and stuff like back
in 2016, 2017. There’s stuff that went
on that was just detrimental to Rockstar
employees. So Rockstar have fixed that
issue, but obviously a byproduct of that
is that they also need they need to be
able to actually make the game. So I I
don’t think they’re delaying for any
other reason than it’s a good idea to
delay a game that maybe isn’t ready yet.
Uh Jack, thank you for the super chat,
man. Do you think that they could do a
Borderlands and bring the release date
forward? No, they won’t do that.
Borderlands compared to Grand Theft
Auto, like there’s such a huge
difference between the sizes of those
IPs. there’s no benefit to Rockstar
bringing the game forwards. It won’t
happen. Um, I think Rockstar have got to
that point now where there’s such a big
disparity between what they had planned
and the community expectation for a
release. And I know a lot of people have
been clinging on to what Strauss Soundic
said about their like Rockstar
consolidating their marketing cycles
closer to release. And it is true, but
if they were to release trailer 2 now
and the game was to have come out this
year, that would have been a
consolidated marketing cycle. That would
have been really short.
So, I
think this I don’t think this means that
trailer 2 is going to be delayed. I
think realistically, we are still going
to be receiving a second trailer
imminently. I mean, Rockstar said at the
end of their post that they were looking
forward to sharing some more news with
us soon. Um, I’d say soon is probably in
the next month. Um, but at this point
it’s all open to speculation. The reason
why I’ve spoken a bit less about delays
over the past two months is when I
dropped my video a couple months back
saying that it’s 90% chance that GTA 6
gets delayed. I got quite a lot of
backlash from the community for
suggesting that. And I didn’t just say
it cuz it was a
hunch. Um, but yeah, I left it until
then. But yeah, I don’t feel good about
being right in this instance because it
sucks.
But if it means that the game is going
to be more polished and it’s going to be
a better game for the release, then it’s
not a bad thing, is it? Uh they never
release games in May. So they might have
g might give yeah another delay before
the earnings call on May. No, the game
won’t call out for they’re not going to
announce a delay today and then announce
another delay in two weeks. That’s
they’re not going to do that.
if they’re if they’re now given an exact
date um May the 26th of
2026, they are going to hit that date.
They’re not going to do another delay.
They’ve got an exact date in mind. And
there’s probably a reason they have that
exact date in mind.
Um that being said, some good news. It
means that next summer is going to be
summer. We’re going to be playing a
summer game. That could be good. But um
I think that this probably means
realistically they might drop pre-orders
around Christmas this year. So they get
the Christmas pre-order sales value and
then they get the release value as well
because otherwise they’re losing a
Christmas a revenue period which is huge
for Rockstar Games. So, I think
realistically we’re going to be seeing
um pre-orders by the end of the year,
which is not something I would have,
even with a delay in mind, that’s not
something I would have suggested before,
but
um Oh my god, what? I hate Rockstar.
Give us the game then fix it later
updates. Releasing a buggy game and then
hoping it gets fixed later of updates is
not a good marketing strategy.
Um, like I said before, they’ve delayed
the game clearly for a reason. They’ll
have their reasons for why the game is
delayed. And, um, yeah. So, I think with
that in
mind, we have to bear in mind that
they’re not releasing it because they
hate us. Uh, so they’re not delaying it
because they hate us. They’re not
delaying it because Rockstar have a
personal vendetta against their fans.
There’s reasons for games being delayed,
and it’s not an easy decision for them

good point. So, I bought a PS5 Pro in

is clickbait. It’s
not. If you’ve been here long enough,
you know by now we don’t do that around
here. What do you mean you don’t think
it’s real? Rockstar would have said
something. Check their Twitter. They
have announced it.

don’t release anything this year
marketing wise? Firstly, thank you for

And no, they will definitely drop
something marketing wise this year. They
alluded to it in their post. They said
that they look forward to sharing some
news with us soon, but also they can’t
do that. Take two stock value is already
on the dive. They can’t afford to be
cocking up like that at all.
Uh, screenshots end of December, second
trailer. Yeah, maybe maybe that could be
could be a way of looking at it.
Um, Rockstar lost 100,000 followers on
on Instagram. Yeah, I to be honest, I
don’t I am annoyed, but I can’t be that
I’m not angry at Rockstar for for a
delay or anything like that. If they’ve
got to delay the game, they’ve got to
delay the game. At the end of the day,
we they lose by delaying the game and we
lose, but we ultimately get the benefit
of the game not being a boogie mess. But
at the same time, it’s a bit like I
don’t know why they said 2025 in the
first trailer when the delay isn’t like
January 26, it’s 6 months delay pretty
much. Uh if you’re going to announce a
delay, why not provide screenshots to
try and appease the community somewhat?
Uh firstly, thank you for the super chat
and I think they will. I think that’s I
think that’s in their plan. I think we
will be getting screenshots or a trailer
soon. That’s the point. I think they
that’s why they in the last line of
their post they they said that they’re
looking forward to sharing some news
with us very soon. So, not very soon,

think we’re now more likely to actually
get some more marketing material because
they can’t every time they’ve previously
announced a delay, they’ve either done
it alongside more information or the
more information has followed within the
weeks after and I think that’s their
their strategy for this. Um, could it be
something in the game that they had to
change up massively? They had to redo a
lot of things causing a delay
potentially. The problem with games like
Grand Theft Auto, especially Grand Theft
Auto 6 with um with the game being so
big, obviously it takes many years to
develop. Real world events change as
well. So, there could be something that
was in the game that’s somehow in the
game engine and they’ve had to remove
it. Maybe it could be with ESRB saying
that they wouldn’t get a rating if they
were to do that. Um could be just the
fact that they just run behind. It could
be um the online side of the game. It
could be some serious serious serious
issues with that
that we we don’t there is a million
things it could be. It could just be
that they’ve naturally just fallen a bit
behind schedule. Things have taken
longer.
Um with the game being so massive. I
think um we get something tonight to get
that money
back. Maybe. I don’t think we’ll get any
more news tonight, but I do think
they’ll be sharing some more information
soon. They’ve got to let the delay sink
in for people first. They’ll give it a
week or two and then they’ll probably
start dropping some more information. I
reckon we’ll probably get a screenshot
or a trailer before the earnings call
because now take to interactive have to
answer a lot of difficult questions
during the earnings call. Um which if
there’s some more positive news that
comes that’ll be less
likely. This is all because of Obi-Wan.

like this abstract subjective thing and
like their terminology just seems so

some news with us soon, soon could be
tomorrow or it could be 6 months. But
then again, we thought trailer two would
be six months to a year after trailer
one. And yeah, that’s where we are now.
I’m going to be 28 when the game comes
out. Oh my
days. My back’s already going, boys. I’m
going to be in a wheelchair by the time
it comes
out. Well, yeah. Mind’s eye. So, this
this, you know, there is there is uh No,
that’s lies. Check Rockstar social
media. Check it.
Um, we we do have some cool games coming
out this year. We have Minds Eye, we
have Mafia, we’ve got well, Helix has
been worked on at the moment. There are
some really cool stuff for us to sink
our teeth into this year. So, it’s not
going to be a bad year for gaming. Um,
it’s going to be a great year for
gaming. It just means that 2026 now, now
it looks like 2026 is going to be Grand
Theft Auto, which kind of benefits
Rockstar a little bit. Um, maybe not in
the short term, but in the long term, it
probably will do. And it does benefit
the rest of the gaming industry as well.
Like so many other games are going to
benefit from delay.

it’s

video on all the reasons why the game
would be delayed and what we can expect
from a delay,
but it’s just so complex. I don’t I
wouldn’t even know where to start with

really gear up for what that could look
like

dropping like over the last 500 days, if
they dropped more information, then they

it’s like they’ve been leading us on.

to not delay the game and try and
release it this year, but then it would
be full of issues and problems and then
we’d all be mad anyway. So Rockstar’s
strategy that they’ve used for every
single game, which is to delay the game,
then
apologize, and then we all forget about
it when the game comes out cuz it’s
brilliant. I think that’s the strategy
they’re using, and it works. We’re all a
bit annoyed now, but we’ll be fine with
it when the game comes out. I hope they
won’t continue their marketing closer to
release strategy. No. Well, the thing is
is when Strauss Zanic was talking about
marketing closer to release, he you got
to remember Stra Xic including all of
the sub companies and the sub companies
under that, they’re responsible for like
a thousand games. And most of their
games, like 70% of Take to Interactive’s
revenue comes from like Zingga and
mobile games and Social Point and all of
these mobile game companies. Those games
market like 3 weeks to a month before
release. Um, I think that’s more in line
with what he was referring to rather
than necessarily GTA 6. GTA 6 doesn’t
follow any of the same rules as any of
the companies within uh Rockstar
uh one second guys. I’m just checking

Unfortunately, it is not clickbait. It
is truthful. This is uh unfortunately
what’s
happened. Rockstar can’t be radio silent
then delay the game. That’s the problem
here. The thing is if they weren’t radio
silent and they’ve been dropping
information for the past 500 days and
then announce a delay, we’d all be more
mad because it’s like they were leading
us on. So yeah, trailer 2 dropping soon,
so it’s all good. Yeah, trailer 2 will
be coming soon like they said in their
post.
um they’re looking forward to sharing
more information with us soon. And
that’s fine because it means that we get
some more stuff to tear apart and go
into. And yeah, I’m just annoyed now I’m
not going to be able to have a holiday
next summer cuz it’s going to be like 6
months of
work. Um how exactly will this affect
the game though? Well, this just means
that the game will come out more
polished. It won’t be a mess, and I
guess that’s their goal.
Um, could I list three main reasons why
I think it is delayed? Um, if you mean
like reasons why I know it’s delayed is
because they’ve announced it. But
reasons why I’d say if we had to if I
had to pull out some random reasons, I’d
say firstly development
timeline. It’s there’s a lot of things
to pull
together. Two would probably be down to
the way that their culture changed
internally, which isn’t a bad thing. I
think it’s just a knock on effect. And
three could be other mitigating effects
such as uh maybe things I’ve had to pull
from the game or something like that.
Um maybe new cover art cuz the current
one says 2025. Yep, I think you’re 100%
correct on that and thank you for the

definitely thinking along the right
lines. I love how people are disliking
my stream. I didn’t make them delay it.

likely going to be closer. Maybe it’s
just a very like April Fool’s
joke. I wish maybe their calendar was
broken and then they just wanted to do
April Fools a bit later. I don’t know.
But yeah, it’s
unfortunate. It is
unfortunate. It does suck. I I’m feeling
I’m extremely disappointed. I feel you.
It’s just the thing is I’m not even mad
at Rockstar for delaying it cuz if
they’ve got to delay it, they’ve got to
delay it. Like it is what it is. We move
on. It’s just It just still sucks
though. It’s like It’s like if you trip
up and hurt your leg, you’re not mad at
someone else for like doing it if you
did it by yourself, but it still sucks.
It still hurts. So, I wouldn’t say this
hurts. It just
sucks. If I was Rockstar, how would I
have handled the delay announcement? Uh,
to be honest, I to all Rockstar’s
credit, I think they said what they
needed to say in the most respectful way
possible, and they did it all right. I
don’t think we can be mad at the way
they’ve done it. cuz I would rather like
I don’t think they should have done it
with screenshots or anything cuz it
would have been a bit like uh you’re
only giving this to you’re only giving
this to us to soften the blow. So I
think they handled it
perfectly. The longer that we wait the
better the game will be 100%.
100%. Or if it gets delayed again well
we’ll cross that bridge when we get to
it. I don’t think in terms of whether a
delay is likely now I they’ve they’ve
delayed it. It is what it is. If they’re
going to delay it again, that’s a
conversation that we have to revisit
closer to the time. That’s not a
conversation for
today. Freeman Fundamentals, thank you
for the $5, man. Well, I did just lose
$100 bet. A year and a half worth of
delays in total for one of the best
games ever. Is a fair trade.
100%. The thing is is like when GTA 5
was delayed, um I spoke to a few
Rockstar devs about this. I am trying to
get them on the channel by the way that
will come. But they mentioned that some
of the reasons that it was delayed and
some of the features that were added in
in that delay period and some of our
favorite parts of GTA 5 were fixed and
sorted and made good during the delay.
And it’s the same goes for Red Dead
Redemption. So I do
think, you know, a delay now might suck,
but we’ll get that back in enjoyability
of the game when the game comes out.
Um, but it’s like
um it’s like Obe said. I mentioned this
earlier in the live stream, but Obe was
was the technical director at Rockstar
from I think 2001 or 1999 or something
like that to 2008 or 2009. He was there
for like to the end of the GTA 4 cycle
and just the start of the GTA 5
development cycle. And when the games
that he was part of were delayed, they
were
announced 4 to 6 months before the
expected release date. And he said for
GTA 6, if there’s going to be a delay,
we’ll hear about it end of April, start
of May. And he was bang on the money. He
was 100% correct.
Um, and you know, I did report on that a
few times. Obviously, a lot of people
don’t want to believe it cuz when you’re
sharing bad news, people don’t want to
be they don’t want to believe that’s
true. But I said, I’d bring on 2026. for
rest in peace 2025. Hey, the good thing
is is Rockstar have said at the end of
their post to expect some more news
soon. They’re looking forward to sharing
some more news with us soon. So, I do
think we’re going to get trailers. We’re
probably going to get pre-orders this
year. There’s a lot to be excited for.
There is a lot to be excited for. So,
whilst it’s
delayed, it’s it’s only a six-month
delay, which is still quite long. I’m
trying to soften the blow. It’s hard.
I just braved in some fluff from the
mask. That was
fun.
Um, I mean, they just strung the public
and shareholders on saying they’re going
to do well this next quarter, then a
delay, and then keep the hype and have a
good position on the stock market. Well,
I mean, it doesn’t matter when they
announce a delay. It’s going to shuff
their stock price anyway.

development at the moment. We’ve got
loads of cool stuff going on. Like, I’m
I’m blessed. I’m just I’m going to my
big worry was not being able to cover
like Mafia and Mind’s Eye fully if we’re
getting GTA 6 stuff happening all at the
same time because we’re going to have
like three months at a time where we
wouldn’t have any trailers or anything
from Rockstar and I can pretty much
guarantee that we’ll have periods with
no news. It means I can actually dive
into these other games. So whilst it it
does suck there is a positive to this.
It’s just hard to see
sometimes. Let’s play Helix. I’m with

2010. I’m not even sure what that means,
but I love
that. So, why was Borderlands pushed
forwards?
Well, don’t
know. Don’t
know. Do you think they’ll give you a
date for trailer 2 and just drop it
randomly? At this point, I don’t know.
There’s a chance it could get leaked if
they drop it or like if they announce
it. So, it could be a cold drop. Who
knows? Right guys, I’m going to call the
stream there cuz um we we have all the
news. We have all the bits that we need
to know so far. I will be dropping a

potential reasons why the game could get
delayed and looking a bit deeper into
what Rockstar have been doing, who
